CONSETT MASTERPLAN

To continue the delivery of the Consett Masterplan, Durham County Council will be delivering phase 4 the town’s Public Realm Improvements on Front Street from July 2015 - February 2016.

New paving will be installed along both sides of Front Street.  Work will be undertaken from 5 Front Street to Lloyds Bank, and on the opposite side of the street from the Gospel Hall along to the traffic light junction at Station Road. 

Further works will include:

  • Refurbishment of the existing planters
  • New seating and litter bins
  • New bollards
  • New tree pits and tree guards
  • New cycle racks

The designs are available to view at Consett Library and Consett Customer Access Point from Monday 25th May until the end of July.

Golf Tournament

Fancy a round of golf?

The Royal British Legion Consett and District Branch are holding a fundraising 'Gallipoli 100th Commemoration Golf Tournament 1915 - 2015' on Saturday 11 July at Consett & District Golf Club.  Tee off at 10.30am.

Cost is £40 per person and includes Green fees, bacon bun and tea/coffee before tee off and a 2 course meal after the tournament.

Armed Forces Day - 27 June 2015

The Royal British Legion Consett and District Branch are hosting an Armed Forces Day on Saturday 27 June 2015 in Blackhill & Consett Park from 11.00am - 4.00pm.

Entry is FREE and there will be a range of entertainment including local acts, carnival rides, Pipe Band and Cadet Band.

Come along to the 70th Annivesary of VE Day Commemoration Concert 1945 - 2015 at the Civic Hall Stanley, Front Street, Stanley, DH9 0NA on Sunday 31st May between 3.00pm - 5.00pm.
