Essential investigation works on Milburngate Bridge

Durham County Council will be carrying out essential investigation works on Milburngate Bridge, on Sunday 10 and Sunday 17 May, in preparation for the main project in July and August 2015.

Temporary closure of pedestrian link from Albert Road car park through to Middle Street, Consett

Message from Regeneration Team at DCC:

The pedestrian link / access route which runs from Albert Road Car Park through to Middle Street (in between Thompson Travel Agents and Britannia Bank) will be closed temporarily for one day 13th May, to allow works to be undertaken.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.  Access is still available to Albert Road / Middle street via Middle Court and Nelson Street.

The Prince’s Trust

Calling all 16-25 year olds!

Are you aged between 16 and 25 years old, not in employment, education and training or work less than 16 hours a week?

Then why not sign up for a FREE course with the Prince’s Trust starting on Tuesday 5 May 2015 at Tow Law Community Centre.

  • We pay up to £10 towards bus fares each week to help you get there.
  • Gain a Level 1 or Level 2 nationally recognised qualification that employers, colleges and universities recognise.
  • Earn up to £250 upon completion.

What happens on the course?

  • Young people join a team of up to 15 participants during the 12 week programme.
  • Spend a week away at a residential activity centre.
  • Undertake a project based in their local community.
  • Complete a work placement.
  • Participate in team challenges and much more exciting opportunities.
