Friends Against Scams - short awareness session

Scams cost consumers £5-£10 billion every year and they're becoming increasingly sophisticated. The pandemic has made people even more vulnerable to scams due to increased isolation. Criminals are exploiting the current uncertainty with phishing emails which appear to be from recognised agencies and businesses like HMRC, TV Licensing and banks asking to confirm personal details and threatening fines if people do not comply.

Our most powerful protection against scams is each other. It is often the most vulnerable people in our communities who are targeted by scammers.  By learning about how to spot and report scams, we can protect our friends, family and colleagues from becoming a victim.
