Stamp It Out is a partnership project which works to reduce stigma and discrimination towards people who experience mental health problems by raising awareness amongst the general public, within the workplace, schools and other settings.

Stamp It Out is a registered charity number 1181251 that operates from Waddington Street Centre, a community mental health resource located in Durham based at 3 Waddington Street, Durham, DH14BG. The campaign covers the whole of County Durham to enable individuals and communities to challenge stigma and discrimination locally.

The role of the Trustee would be to promote and protect the health of the public, particularly those suffering with mental health conditions, in County Durham and the surrounding areas, by educating the public in all areas relating to mental health conditions in order to reduce stigma and discrimination towards people who experience mental health problems and to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of poor mental health.

The role of a Trustee is a voluntary position, but Trustees can claim reasonable travel expenses and will be able to access training and support in order to undertake their role.

This opportunity is flexible. There are monthly meetings to attend with additional subgroups and campaign meetings on an ad hoc basis.

In addition to the steering group which meetings monthly there is a Stamp It Out Campaigners Group which meets fortnightly to develop a toolkit of resources which can be used informally to conversations and initiate social contact.
