DCC Vision Focus Groups - January 2019

Durham 2030: Refreshing the Vision Focus Groups

As some of you will be aware, Durham County Council are currently refreshing their ‘Altogether Better Durham’ vision and through discussions/feedback earlier in the year with a range of stakeholders, 7 emerging ‘ambitions’ have been drafted.

The Derwent Valley AAP (DVP) would now like to provide an opportunity for local residents, partners, Elected members, businesses and community and voluntary representatives to have their say on these ambitions, the main question being, are these the right ones for County Durham and for our communities?

The 7 draft ambitions are:

  1. A thriving economy that creates financially secure jobs

  2. County Durham is a place to visit, stay and come back to

  3. A range of good quality housing is available to meet the future needs of the county

  4. Vibrant town and village centres

  5. County Durham is a great place for children and young people to grow up

  6. People are supported to enjoy healthier and happier lives

  7. Fair and supportive communities where everybody matters

Two Focus Groups, to outline fully these ambitions and obtain your views, are being hosted by the DVP on Wednesday 9th January 2019 at the following times/venues:

  • 10am – 11.30am, St Patrick’s Church Hall, Victoria Road, Consett. DH8 5AX
  • 6pm – 7.30pm, Training Room at Derwentside Business Centre, Consett. DH8 6BP

If you would like to take part in one of the consultation Focus Groups, please book a place in advance (to help us arrange seating and refreshments!) either by contacting the team on 03000 260725 or e-mailing to our generic address at This email address is being protected from spambots.
