Durham Works Offering Young People Opportunity to get involved in Volunteering

DurhamWorks are offering 16-24 year olds, living in County Durham who aren’t in Education, Employment or Training an opportunity to get involved in volunteering.

Volunteering is a great way to get real work experience whilst making a real difference to the local community and businesses.

It can also help people gain skills to fill gaps on their CV, try different types of work without having to commit, build confidence, make friends and get a job reference without any previous experience.

Durham Community Action can offer one-to-one support to 16-24 year olds, living in County Durham and not in education, employment or training, to help them identify and apply for appropriate volunteer placements, from a one off event to volunteering on a regular basis.

Their next course starts on 18 April at 1pm at Foundations, 51-55 Church Street, Shildon, DL4 1DT.

If you know a young person who is interested in volunteering, encourage them to find out more about the accredited Volunteer Passport Course. Telephone 01388 742040 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
