GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR NATIONAL TREE WEEK 2011

Durham County Council is providing grants for this year's Tree Week Campaign. 

The Tree Council organised the first National Tree Week in 1975 and now up to a million trees are planted nationally each year as a result of this campaign.  Since 1979, Durham County Council has taken part in National Tree Week which, this year will run from 26 November to 4 December 2011.

As before, a 100% grant up to a maximum of £150 is available to Parish Councils, Community Groups and Schools wishing to participate.

(t:0191 3834077).  As requests will be on a first come first served basis, early application is recommended.  Completed application forms should be returned by Friday, 4th November 2011.

Applicants will be required to fund the work and then claim the grant from the County Council.  Please ensure that you keep a complete record of spending on the project.  Notes on tree planting and aftercare are available upon application.
