Consett Street Friends

Volunteers from local churches came together last year to set up Consett Street Friends. With support from the Police (and the promise of a hot cup of coffee provided by Wetherspoons) the Street Friends are present within Consett town centre from 10.45pm through to around 3.00am providing bottled water for those who have become dehydrated and flip-flops to ladies struggling in their high heeled shoes as well as comfort to people left on their own having lost their friends or to anyone just needing a little support. The service currently operates once per month and on Bank Holiday Weekends, anyone wishing to get involved in the project can contact the organisers on 01207 505 027 for more information, all are welcome.
